Meet The Team
Marlin Brown
While a previous inmate at six federal penitentiaries during a long prison stay, Mr. Brown is now a successful owner of a transportation and logistics company in Fontana, California. Mr. Brown is on a mission to help inmates become successful upon reentry into the community. From firsthand experience inside the prison system, serving time, and exiting the prison system, he is well aware of the pitfalls, limited opportunities, risks, stigma, and discrimination faced by inmates.
Mr. Brown continues supporting friends daily who are still in prison who reach out for friendship, support, exploration of options, and at times just a listening ear who will care about their hopes and dreams.
Joyce Harden

Owner of Healing Ongoing-Healing Through Change Private Practice. Mrs. Harden provides counseling and therapy to adults, teens and children in her private practice, but also brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from past leadership in behavioral health supervision (group homes, mental health state hospitals, jails, foster care system) and as an adjunct professor at the University of Phoenix.
Through a compassionate approach and extensive behavioral health experience, Mrs. Harden seeks to help each person achieve emotional and psychological development. Not only as a licensed mental health professional but as an African American woman, Mrs. Harden is greatly vested in helping those returning from prison succeed. Mrs. Harden’s passion is also ignited by seeing firsthand the pain caused by the incarceration process on families, family, and community members along with the high recidivism rate of those in the greater community who are unable to adjust or find the right support.

Mrs. Herrera is a manager at the global metals indexing firm Davis Index and an active mother. Mrs. Herrera has extensive experience in finance and has been involved in various nonprofit companies addressing social justice issues as a volunteer while employed at various companies including Goldman, Sachs, & Co., Vakkur.org, ISMG an investment of Jordan Industries, Ameriwood Industries, and Kirsch Industries among others.
As an immigrant farm worker as a youth that traveled between South Texas and the Midwest and later attended the University of Notre Dame, Mrs. Herrera brings a different perspective to the team with a fervor for providing education and opportunities for community members in need.
Takisha Jernagin

Ms. Jernagin obtained her degree in Organizational Communication in May of 2022. She has extensive non-profit experience with programs tailored to help those that were formerly incarcerated transition into higher education, including at Project Rebound. Ms. Jernagin also volunteers for the Prison Education Project (PEP), the Reintegration Academy, and the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) as a mentor and program facilitator. They focus on programs to support those that have been affected by incarceration by providing education, mentorship, and resources for overall success.
Ms. Jernagin also has over 10 years of experience working in higher education. Due to Ms. Jernagin being a formerly incarcerated individual, she uses her past experiences coupled with her education, network, and passion to reach out and support those that have experienced similar struggles.
